WCOPP Well Cap
Installation Guide

Cap the wellhead. Help keep contaminants out.

4" or 5" casing I.D. / 4-1/2" or 5-9/16" O.D. | 1" conduit tap | 1/2" or 5/8" screened vent

Before you start

Confirm casing & components

Verify correct casing O.D. and WCOPP model. Check molded plastic top, PVC bottom ring, neoprene gasket, three or four bolts/nuts and stainless steel screened vent.

Make the work area safe

Turn off and verify pump power. Keep the well opening clean and protected. Prepare approved conduit fittings and hand tools.

5 simple steps

  1. Shut off power & protect the well

Switch off and verify pump power. Keep dirt, loose hardware and tools out of the opening. Do not disturb equipment supporting the pump.

  2. Check the casing rim

Confirm the correct casing size. Clean away dirt, rust and burrs; check that the casing rim is sound and level.

  3. Position the WCOPP cap

Inspect the PVC bottom ring and neoprene gasket. Set the cap squarely on the casing and verify that the gasket seats properly.

  4. Secure the three or four bolts

Check that the bolt-retaining O-ring holds the bolts in place. Start all bolts by hand. Tighten evenly in stages until secure; do not overtighten.

  5. Connect conduit & inspect

Have a qualified person install the approved electrical conduit connection. Keep the stainless steel screened vent open; check for gaps or movement.
