WCP Well Cap
Installation Guide

For WCP500 | WCP5500 | WCPG500 sanitary (watertight) caps

Cap the wellhead. Help keep contaminants out.

5" casing I.D. / 5-9/16" O.D. | 1" conduit tap | 3/4" screened vent

Before you start

Confirm casing & components

Verify 5-9/16" actual casing O.D., correct WCP model, intact aluminum top, PVC base, four bolts/nuts and stainless steel screened vent.

Make the work area safe

Turn off and verify pump power. Keep the well opening clean and protected. Prepare approved conduit fittings and hand tools.

5 simple steps

  1. Shut off power & protect the well

Switch off and verify pump power. Keep dirt, loose hardware and tools out of the opening. Do not disturb equipment supporting the pump.

  2. Check the casing rim

Confirm the correct casing size. Clean away dirt, rust and burrs; check that the casing rim is sound and level.

  3. Position the WCP cap

Inspect the PVC base and stainless steel vent screen. Set the cap squarely on the casing and verify that the base seats properly.

  4. Secure the four bolts

Start all bolts by hand. Tighten evenly in stages until secure; do not distort the PVC base or overtighten.

  5. Connect conduit & inspect

Have a qualified person install the approved electrical conduit connection. Keep the screened vent open; check for gaps or movement.
