Merrill is the best yard hydrant there is. Mainly because you can service it without having to dig it up. Have had other brands that get hard to open and have to be dug up to repair. Can't beat Merril's products.

This one replaces a Merrill hydrant I installed 30 years ago. Very happy with this product.

Last C 1000 lasted twenty plus years. Could have rebuilt it, but I’m getting old, and did not want to dig up that four foot pit again! Just replaced it, confident that it would last another twenty. Great American made product that I am proud to do business with and recommend. Lack of retailers in this area is the only issue, but ordering direct was not that difficult. Installation was smooth with no adjustment needed. Noticed initials engraved on the shaft, no doubt for quality control. In this throw away time we live in, it’s great to see a company making durable products that actually work well. Thank you.

I have not installed this one yet. I installed a previous purchase of the C1000 and have no complaints. The one I had to replace had a blue head and was only in the ground for about 2 years, this one has been installed for about the same amount of time and no problems

well made easy to install used 3/4 npt elbow screwed pvc pipe to it. check for leaks before filling in trench. used post hole digger where c-1000 was going put gravel in post hole for drainage.

We really like this faucets but it was hard to install.

Bought this c-1000 to replace an Any-Flow that cracked. Tried replacing just the head, but the plunger was jammed in the pipe, so I had to replace the whole unit. The one I received was the red color, not the "ugly" green as others received. Aside from digging up the old water line, the installation was pretty easy. I ended up getting a 3/4 fip to 3/4 barb 90 degree for my connection. The C-1000 takes a 3/4 fip connection. I used pipe dope as suggested in the installation video (search YouTube as Merrill has their own channel for how to videos). My only complaint is the paint job. It was assembled then painted, which is sloppy. They lost a star for the finish work.

Ordered a 3 ft bury and received a 2ft bury with a different model number. Returned!

I needed to replace my 20 yr. old hydrant after it broke and sprung a leak. This is a sturdy, well made hydrant. I am really pleased with this purchase!!!

Very solid high end hydrant that fits your hand well.. no more hitting knuckles when closing. Great product highly recommend it.

Very well made, high quality materials and it comes with instructions how to. It was easy to install, I'm using it to provide water to my RV instead of using a hose. Great flow, better than my own house because I used an 1 inch Pex tubing. I'm happy with it's function and highly recommend it.

Works a litt hard

He bought our products because he used them before, quality. Other companies break but Merrill last. Stainless steel fitting didn’t arrive, the box was opened, damaged, pipe was take out, stainless steel 3/4 pipe fitting. Send it to me the fitting or refund me I sent the email- but out of office, Terri. Something was wrong with shipping! Box was damaged Farm personal livestock, horses, physician.

The whole thing was covered in paint, and I had to chip alot of it off, to be able to use it. Other than that, it works as it should.

Like others have stated, mine showed up green instead of red. Not a huge deal. The threads on the end are very short, however, so most of my hoses will bottom out against the hex before getting a good seal. The result is dripping/spraying.

This faucet is heads and shoulders better than the broken Simmons faucets I replaced. Digging down 4 feet and then hanging upside down in the hole installing the piece was NOT my favorite but required if you want a great faucet in your yard. The water pressure is amazing as well. the L shaped spigot, the stainless el and the barbed connector needed to be purchased separately.

Mine was delivered with a broken handle.

So... it’s early December and the handle is freezing. It’s located inside my barn yet the handle portion of the hydrant is freezing. I have to run a hair dryer pointed at the handle for a few min to melt the ice inside. We haven’t even come close to the coldest part of winter and have issues. I would not recommend this product.

Quality build. Eventually you always need to rebuild a hydrant. Buy a cheap one and that will require you to dig it out and replace. If you try to rebuild cheap hydrants I have had the stopper fall off and then you have no option but to dig it up. These hydrants have a much better plunger set up. Will not fall off. You will reap the benefits a few years from now when it needs rebuilding

Works perfectly! We installed this about 50 feet from our house to have it right at the horse water tubs. I don’t want to deal with frozen hoses or carrying water buckets from the house during winter months. I did add a 3/4 inch hose and there’s no leaks and can quickly fill a 100 gallon trough. I don’t need the hose on there since we can put the water tubs under the hydrant since it’s plenty tall enough. I’m only using a hose right now since I clean the tubs often with this warm weather. I did originally have a very small hose from Walmart on this. It leaked everywhere because the hose was too skinny and this hydrant flows lots of water at once. Opt for the wider hose and you won’t be disappointed!

installed two of these faucets in early January just before we had a week of freezing temperatures here in Texas. While everyone else is repairing water lines, we are in excellent shape. No broken waterlines anywhere. Properly installed, these faucets are an excellent investment. I will be installing more of these in the future.

We needed to replace a faucet but standpipe was in cement. Thanks to excellent assistance from Merrill we purchased a new entire faucet; and removed the handle and interior components which we then inserted in to the existing standpipe. Perfect fit. No more leaks!!!!

Prior to the install of my CNL104 hydrant i disassembled the hydrant as if I was replacing the plunger. Upon removing the rod and plunger i felt quite a few rough areas inside the 1” pipe.Peering into the pipe i saw a lot of slag and some very sharp protrusions all along the seam of the pipe. Not good for a plunger going in or out for future service if and when required. I feel the debris should be removed at the factory prior to assembly. I hope I’m proven wrong but it seems like a quality control issue. By the way I am still pleased with my two other Merrill AnyFlow hydrants that are over 25 years old.

TO be perfectly honest, I screwed up and ordered the wrong hydrant. I needed a 4 ft. bury and ordered the wrong hydrant - it was way too short. What I found out today, however, is that on an order of over $300 I will need to pay a TWENTY FIVE PERCENT restocking fee. Sorry, folks - in my opinion that is pretty poor customer relations. IF I had a choice I would go elsewhere, but sadly there is no one in the area that carries these hydrants.

Seems like a well built outlet. Heavy, stout, the internals “feel” well made. The action is smooth. However, none of these things leak right away. I’ll hit y’all back in about a year. The cheap ones are usually leaking like a Sifter by then. I’m expecting much more from this one at this price point.

I purchased this off of reviews. Didn't want to buy a cheap-o for $69......... The hydrant felt solid, had good fittings, so time will tell. I installed it with gravel and fabric encapsulating the drain to ensure no contaminates plug the drain. It works great as of now. I'm just not that person to give a great review until it has made it for at least a few years.

I have a kennel and use this everyday. I have used simmons, woodfords and they last about 8 months. The connection from the handle to the rod is a poorly engineered and the connection slips and water leaks out. So it will not turn off. Not the Merrill is engineered perfectly. And could never slip-on the top of the rod. Best hydrant built yet. I won't have to do any repairs to the Merrill for years.

I installed this pump in my barn. It is the second one I have bought. The first one is still going strong twenty years and counting. I love that it is made in the USA and the quality shows.

This hydrant works great so far. We have another Merrill hydrant that is at least 25 to 30 years old and still works great. Our last hydrant was a different brand and only lasted 3 years. Parts rotted on it.

Doesn't match the one in the photo, no big deal because it works great. Mine came through painted an ugly green instead of looking like the one in the advertisement.

Was well made. Took awhile and some effort and review of you tube video to get it to stop leaking. Still has a small drip leak at hose connector

Hydrant works well opening, closing and draining. Hose connect is good. Only problem is bucket handle knob cast into spigot is too small for curve of spigot, and bucket slips off while filling. I will need to attach something to hold bucket handle better, maybe a shackle and hook? Maybe wrap heavy gauge wire around spigot knob to make it bigger? Too much trouble to remove and replace for this flaw, now that hydrant is installed.
